The Boulder Ridge Way

Boulder Ridge Elementary has spent the last two years undergoing a dramatic paradigm shift; the shift from leadership being for the few, to leadership being for everyone!

The Leader in Me is helping to transform students’ thoughts and actions through  the teaching and learning of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Students; Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw. These habits are helping the Boulder Ridge staff and students become healthy and successful leaders. As students encounter obstacles in their academic and social lives, they are responding in kinder and more considerate ways. They are learning to self-regulate as they utilize these compassionate skills (or 7 Habits) to resolve challenges  within themselves and with their peers.

“The Boulder Ridge Way” is the school-wide belief that everyone can be a leader! Students put first things first, holding themselves and each other accountable for their learning and actions. They set individual goals, lead their own student/ parent conferences, lead assemblies and events, and are involved in a variety of clubs and Action Teams.

The Leader in Me has given the students of Boulder Ridge the tools and vocabulary to begin their leadership journey, and create habits that help them in school and throughout life. "Leadership" is not just a word spoken at Boulder Ridge, it IS Boulder Ridge!
