Empowering Educators

Empowering educators through Professional Development (PD) opportunities is crucial for enhancing their effectiveness. These programs provide insights into innovative curriculum, instructional tools, and strategies, fostering dynamic learning environments for both students and staff. Recently, several impactful PD workshops took place within Romoland School District to prepare for the new school year. The CSEA PD Summer Workshop Series saw 48 participants engage in sessions covering topics like vacation/work calendars, level pay, first aid & CPR, and CSEA membership details. Additionally, 19 participants from the CSEA School Site Office Staff returned to work before students to discuss best practices and set goals for the upcoming school year. More than 30 new staff members participated in, Navigating Difference, a cultural competency training emphasizing cultural awareness, understanding, knowledge, interaction, and sensitivity. Furthermore, the Orton Gillingham training provided 29 staff members with tools to address early literacy and dyslexia through multi-sensory methods. ProAct training, attended by 20 participants, focused on restraint reduction for behavioral issues. Lastly, the Teacher Return to Work Day united 250 educators to watch "The Truth About Reading" documentary, sparking discussions on literacy achievements and plans for enhancing student learning in our district. educators engaging in PD
