Future Chefs Wanted

Calling all future chefs for our Future Chefs Challenge culinary competition! We're looking for your favorite lunch meal – reimagined! 

This year we are excited to accept entries for all Middle School students in additon to 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Elementary students! The theme for the competition is Reimagining Their Favorite School Lunch Meal.

Judging will be based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Kid Friendly
  • Ease of Preparation
  • Healthy Attributes
  • Plate Presentation
  • Taste
  • Student Chef Presentation to Judges

Students can download an entry form and recipe card online or pick one up from their school. Completed entry forms should be returned to the cafeteria or front office. There will be a blue entry box in the front office of each school where students can submit their recipe cards. 

Entry forms for Middle School students must be turned in by Friday, February 28, 2020. Four (4) lucky finalists will be chosen to compete in a Culinary Competition “Cook-Off” held on March 18, 2020, scheduled for 2:00 – 4:30 pm at Ethan A. Chase Middle School, MPR.

Entry forms for Elementary School students must be turned in by Friday, March 6, 2020. Finalists will be formally invited to Culinary Competition “Cook-Off” held on March 25, 2020, scheduled for 2:00 – 4:30 pm at Ethan A. Chase Middle School, MPR.

All Finalists will receive a plaque, chef coat, apron and hat.


As an added bonus, our competition is just one of 256 local competitions that Sodexo will be orchestrating across the country in March. The winning recipe from each event will be entered to win a national competition in April!
