Shining Star: Rosa Rangel

This month, we are proud to recognize Rosa Rangel, Food Service Worker at Romoland Elementary School, as a Romoland School District Shining Star!

Rosa has served RSD for the past three years and has become an essential part of ensuring students start their school day with a smile. She plays a key role in Breakfast in the Classroom (B.I.C.), where she not only provides nutritious meals but also creates a warm, welcoming environment that helps students feel cared for and ready to learn.

Director of Nutrition Services, Juan Valencia, describes Rosa as a shining example of dedication and compassion. “Rosa consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every student receives proper, nutritious meals. She often refers to them as ‘her students,’ which reflects the personal care and responsibility she feels toward their well-being. Even though her main shift is during breakfast, Rosa is always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. Her flexibility, team spirit, and caring attitude make a huge difference every day.”

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rosa shared: “I enjoy being able to provide students with breakfast to start their day. I love watching the smile on their face when they come and pick up their breakfast carts.”

Rosa believes her work has a direct impact on students’ success: “My role helps ensure students feel welcome in a positive environment and are well-fueled so they can focus on their studies. My goal is to make breakfast in the classroom a positive experience that contributes to their overall well-being.”

Rosa’s passion, positivity, and commitment truly embody what it means to be a Romoland Shining Star. Thank you, Rosa, for the incredible care and joy you bring to our students each day!
