Shining Star: Mindy Torres

Romoland School District is proud to recognize Mindy Torres, third-grade teacher at Harvest Valley Elementary, as this month’s Shining Star. With 11 years of dedicated service to RSD, Mrs. Torres exemplifies the heart, passion, and commitment that make our district truly shine.

Mrs. Torres is known across campus for creating an engaging, nurturing, and inspiring classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. She takes pride in providing opportunities students may not otherwise experience, finding joy in watching them achieve things they once believed were out of reach. Her belief in her students and her commitment to teaching lifelong skills such as perseverance, teamwork, and confidence have made a lasting impact on countless learners.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Torres pours her energy into enriching the school community by coordinating the Harvest Valley Spirit Team and leading the Robotics Club. Through these programs, she encourages students to showcase their talents, build school pride, and develop critical problem-solving and collaboration skills. She credits the supportive Harvest Valley families and her incredible colleagues for helping make these programs successful.

HVES Principal, Kristine Sherrett, describes Mrs. Torres as someone who “goes above and beyond to support the Harvest community,” noting her positivity, leadership, and unwavering dedication. From uplifting school spirit to guiding students through hands-on STEM challenges, Mrs. Torres consistently shows what it means to lead with heart.

Congratulations, Mrs. Torres! Thank you for helping our students shine and for being a true Shining Star in the Romoland School District.
