Shining Star – Lindsay Huhta

We are delighted to announce Lindsay Huhta, RISE Special Education Teacher at Mesa View Elementary, as one of Romoland School District’s Shining Stars for October 2024! Lindsay’s work in special education exemplifies our district’s values, as she brings a blend of dedication, compassion, and enthusiasm to her students and colleagues each day.

A member of the RSD team for five years, Lindsay finds great joy in witnessing her students’ growth and achievements. She reflects, “The best part about my job is seeing the students’ growth and success. Whether it’s a small victory, like lining up appropriately, or a larger milestone, like learning to communicate, I love seeing the progress they’re making every day.”

Lindsay’s impact is felt far beyond her classroom walls. Mesa View Principal, Heather Hilz Fitzgerald, praises Lindsay as a "phenomenal teacher who demonstrates exceptional dedication to her students and actively collaborates with instructional aides, general education teachers, and service providers." She notes that Lindsay’s compassion shines in her deep understanding of each student’s unique personality, abilities, and needs. By creating a fun, welcoming environment with high expectations, Lindsay empowers her students to reach their fullest potential.

Alongside her instructional aides, Lindsay fosters students’ communication, academic, and functional skills to build independence and confidence. Her dedication not only shapes her students’ current experiences but also sets them up for a successful journey beyond the classroom.
