Romoland School District is proud to recognize Jackie Nunez, Instructional Aide at Hillside Innovation Academy, as this month’s Shining Star!

Jackie consistently goes above and beyond to support both students and staff. She works tirelessly to help students meet their goals, always approaching her role with patience, empathy, and a commitment to excellence. Her dedication to student success is matched by her willingness to step in wherever she’s needed, including assisting with the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP).

“She genuinely cares for each student, setting a positive example through her hard work and commitment,” Hillside Innovation Academy Principal, Lilly Ellefsen shared. “Jackie holds high expectations for herself and those around her, inspiring everyone to strive for their best.”

With over two years of service in the Romoland School District, Jackie reflected on what she enjoys most about her role. “My role allows me to actively contribute to a positive culture that values understanding and empathy, where individuals feel heard, respected, and supported.”

She believes in the ripple effect of her work, adding that, “each day brings opportunities to make a meaningful difference–whether through direct interactions, being a resource, or working together toward shared goals.”
