Shining Star: Deborah Cannon

The Romoland School District is proud to celebrate Deborah Cannon, Kindergarten Teacher at Romoland Elementary, as this month’s Shining Star!

Principal Estela Muñoz shared that Mrs. Cannon is recognized on campus for her selflessness, passion for teaching, and unwavering dedication to her students and colleagues. With 21 years of service in the Romoland School District, she has become a true role model, admired for both her expertise and the genuine love she shows every student.

Mrs. Cannon shares that the most rewarding part of her role is “watching students learn and grow” and making a lasting difference in their lives. She believes teaching is more than a job—it’s the exchange of ideas, hopes, and dreams that inspire a brighter future for students, families, colleagues, and the community.

By setting high expectations and fostering a positive classroom environment, Mrs. Cannon motivates her students to believe in themselves and strive toward their goals. Her commitment to collaboration with colleagues helps create strong instructional practices, which not only supports student success but also strengthens the entire school community.

Mrs. Cannon’s colleagues describe her as someone with a huge heart who is always willing to step in and support her team. Her light shines brightly at Romoland Elementary, making her a truly deserving Shining Star.
