Through the power of music, creativity, and inclusive learning, Antony Godinez inspires students across Romoland School District to discover their talents, build confidence, and find joy in learning.

Now in his second year with RSD, Mr. Godinez teaches music at Romoland Elementary School, Mesa View Elementary School, and Hillside Innovation Academy, inspiring students from TK to fifth grade to explore music while building skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

“Seeing the students’ excitement for music class” is what Mr. Godinez enjoys most about his role. One of his favorite things to hear from students is, “Can we try this again?” because it shows that they are invested in learning, developing their skills, and challenging themselves.

His commitment to making music accessible to every student is especially evident in his thoughtful approach to inclusive education. Through intentional planning and tailored instruction, Mr. Godinez integrates students with moderate-to-severe disabilities into music lessons, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate and experience the joy of music.

Mr. Godinez also goes above and beyond to create additional opportunities for students to discover their talents. Last year, he launched an after-school choir club, giving students another opportunity to develop their musical skills, express themselves creatively, and build confidence.

“Music is a valuable tool for teaching students essential life skills they can apply in every aspect of their lives, such as problem-solving, critical analysis, and active listening,” Mr. Godinez shared. “I encourage the students to take on difficult challenges and discover the talent and skills they may not initially realize they possess.”

His patience, heart, and dedication have made him a valued member of the Romoland School District community. Through music, Mr. Godinez encourages students to broaden their perspectives, explore their creativity, and discover what they are capable of achieving.
