Romoland School District is excited to welcome several new leaders to our schools and programs for the 2025–26 school year. These experienced educators bring a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion for student success to our district community.

Cournesha Garrett – Assistant Principal, Boulder Ridge Elementary School

Cournesha Garrett

Cournesha Garrett joins Boulder Ridge Elementary as Assistant Principal with more than 11 years in education. She has served in multiple leadership roles, including grade-level team lead, summer school administrator, and new-teacher mentor. Mrs. Garrett is passionate about helping students grow as well-rounded learners and leaders through an inclusive approach that honors every child. She looks forward to collaborating with students, staff, and families to build safe, joyful, and high-expectation learning environments and is eager to support the district’s Leader in Me program while celebrating student voice and leadership across the campus.

 

 

 

Nicole Fiorella – Early Childhood Education Program Director

Nicole Fiorella

Nicole Fiorella brings nearly two decades of experience in education to Romoland’s Early Childhood Education Program. Since 2005, she has worked as a classroom teacher, Early Childhood Education Principal, and Director, serving communities in San Diego and Los Angeles and partnering with organizations including UCLA and Universal Studios-Comcast. Nicole is dedicated to supporting early childhood educators and ensuring children and families receive the highest quality education and care. She looks forward to continuing the tradition of excellence in Romoland’s Early Childhood Education Program and can often be found engaging with students in classrooms or greeting families throughout the school day.

 

 

 

Denise Martin – Coordinator of Special Education

Denise Martin

Denise Martin joins Romoland as Coordinator of Special Education, bringing 19 years of experience in education. Her career began as a bilingual instructional assistant, and she has also served as a special day class teacher, RSP resource teacher, and assistant principal. Denise is deeply committed to ensuring every student feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive. Guided by the belief that “strength lies in differences, not in similarities,” she strives to create inclusive learning opportunities that embrace the unique strengths of students and staff alike.

 

 

 

 

Jesus Ugarte Magana – Assistant Principal, Granite Hills School

Jesus Ugarte Magana

Jesus Ugarte Magana serves as Assistant Principal at Granite Hills School and brings 14 years of experience in education. With a background in school counseling and administration, he is committed to supporting staff, strengthening school systems, and fostering student success. Mr. Ugarte Magana is excited to be part of the Pack and looks forward to contributing to a thriving school community.
