On Saturday, January 25, Romoland School District partnered with the HOPE Collaborative to cohost the Familyland Resource Fair, held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Harvest Valley Elementary School parking lot. As the designated child abuse prevention task force for Riverside County, the HOPE Collaborative aimed to minimize instances of child abuse by connecting students, families, and community members with critical resources while fostering positive family engagement.
The event featured 20 vendors (listed below) who interacted with an estimated 185–200 attendees, providing information and support. Families were encouraged to participate in a raffle held at two intervals, with prizes generously donated by the vendors. Seven families won items such as art kits, a box of books, or a tablet. Additionally, the first 20 families received a complimentary board game or Uno card deck.
A special acknowledgment goes to the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) staff for volunteering their time and talents to offer engaging activities, including games, bracelet-making, face painting, cotton candy, and popcorn. Families also had access to free food, snacks, and essential items such as blankets, school supplies, literacy materials, self-care products, and first aid kits.
