    Hello Families!

I am grateful to be a part of the Romoland Elementary team.  I am a T-Kindergarten teacher and this will be my 18th year teaching.  My experiences include teaching grades K-8, early childhood classrooms, and being a Preschool Director.  I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Masters in Elementary Education Curriculum and Instruction from San Diego State University.

Teaching is my passion! I believe that when children are loved, accepted for who they are, and their uniqueness is celebrated, all children are capable of reaching their greatest learning potential.  I am a lifelong learner and love learning.  I want to instill that love of learning for each child I have in my classroom.

On a personal level, I am a Maui, Hawaii native and I take great pride in my culture and heritage.  Family is very important to me as they have always been my biggest supporters in my career.  I have three children and an amazing husband, who is a radiation therapist.  During our free time, we enjoy just spending time together, whether it would be traveling, paddle boarding, snowboarding, bowling, golfing, or simply watching a good movie.

I value partnerships with families and my colleagues.  Together, we can instill skills and values in our children to ensure a better tomorrow.  I am looking forward to working with all of you.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions at mtharavong@romoland.net.
