The goal of the Early Childhood Education programs is inclusion, along with school readiness and lifelong success for our students and families. All preschool-aged classrooms maintain a 1:8 staff-child ratio and an inclusive environment. Teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education or a related field. All instructional aides have training and college coursework specific to early childhood education. Each classroom is designed for individual and group learning opportunities that support the development of all children. Throughout the school year, instructional staff works on individualized goals for social and educational growth for each student.
As a participating program of Quality Start Riverside, all three of our school sites benefit from the support that has been put in place by the State of California for the purpose of providing learning environments that are of the highest quality to our earliest learners. Currently, all three of our sites are tiered at a "Tier 4," which is an indicator that Romoland School District not only follows state compliance but best practices for early childhood.
Our adopted curriculum is High Scope, which is a research-based curriculum that is used nationwide as a curriculum as well as a practice. This curriculum supports all students and supports inclusive practices as well.
