Romoland Elementary Music Program logo
Romoland School District is committed to offering music instruction at no cost to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who choose to participate in the music program.  Our 3rd and 4th grade curriculum will focus on singing, playing instruments, improvising, composing, reading and notating music, as well as analyzing, evaluating and integrating music with other academic disciplines.  This skill-based approach serves as foundational knowledge for students as they advance to our 5th grade band program.
Music teaches critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, discipline, creativity and self‐esteem – 21st century skills that transfer to all academics and aspects of daily life through adulthood.  Students who study music have improved motivation and behavior; increased attendance and standardized test scores; and most important,  have an outlet that fosters their creative and critical-thinking skills.  Music education helps create a community by building social bonds between students and families and between campuses. Students perform concerts throughout their community, teach family members and friends how to play their instruments, and experience the value of constant improvement through dedication and hard work.
