Mrs. de Sousa

Hello everyone!

I am very excited about the upcoming 2023 - 2024 school year and the opportunity to work with you as your TK grade teacher at Mesa View Elementary School. I am a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and I obtained my Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teaching at University of Southern California (USC). This is my ninth year teaching in the Romoland School District. Previously, I have taught overseas in Taiwan and in several districts within the LA area. During my time overseas, I had the honor of serving on the Taiwan City's Education Board as an English Immersion Program consultant. I am extremely proud to be a Mustang, working with some of the best students in the country!

During my time as a Mustang, I have become a master screencastifier, a google certified educator, and the 2019 IACUE Emerging Teacher of the Year Award recipient. My three years' participation in our district's units of study team led me to an amazing opportunity where I worked with fellow educators around the world developing and editing test items that appear at the end of the year state exams. I am currently continuing to bring the best practices to our scholars by staying connected with educators on social media platforms such as Twitter.

Teaching and learning is my passion and drive. I wholeheartedly believe in the "whole child" when it comes to education. As such, I want to ensure to the best of my ability that your child feels welcomed, safe, and respected whenever they are in my class. Please contact me if you have any comments, questions, or concerns. You can email me by clicking here

I look forward to seeing each and every one of you on the first day of school (Thursday, August 10, 2023)!

Your teacher,

Mrs. de Sousa
