• Hello and Welcome to 3rd Grade!!

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine. I am so excited to work with you and your child this year. It is going to be a year of fun, learning and lots of adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I thought you may want to know a little about me.

I have two daughters and one son named Madison (12)  London (10) and Phoenix (3). They take up most of my free time but some of my hobbies that I enjoy are creating books, making movies, and playing sports. I have lived in California for 15 years but I was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. I graduated from Sul Ross State University and then received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas Brownsville.

This will be my 19th year teaching elementary and 14th year teaching 3rd grade. I make it my mission to instill a love for learning in each of my students. I attempt to teach with a passion so my students develop a desire to become lifelong learners. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish and thrive. I will strive to be that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in my door and gives each of them not only an education, but a passion to learn.

This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to call (951-928-2915) or email (mwong@romoland.net) at any time you have any concerns. Also, with any emails sent, please allow me till the end of the day to respond. Third grade is a busy year and I will not have much time to look through emails until the end of the day. Thank you and I look forward to this new school year!

         Sincerely,

    Mindy Torres-Wong
