RTA Contract/Negotiations Update
RTA Contract/Negotiations Update
Joint Communication 12/13/2024
The Association and the District met on Monday, December 9, 2024 and finalized the tentative agreement regarding compensation.
The agreement calls for an increase to our certificated salary schedules of 2% effective July 1, 2024. The agreement also includes an additional one time payment of 2%.
The agreement is currently going through RTA membership for ratification and then to the Board of Education for final approval. This will likely take place at the January 14, 2025 Board meeting.
Pending RTA ratification and Board approval in January, the agreement will be implemented in a phased-in approach with the ongoing increase to the salary schedules being included on the January payroll. The one time payment will then be issued on the February payroll. The final component is the retroactive pay from the beginning of the school year through January and that will be seen on the March payroll.
The phased-in approach is designed to reduce the impact of federal and state taxes on the employee compensation.

RTA and the District have received questions about the voluntary and involuntary transfer process for the 2025-2026 school year. We are currently working on the process of filling positions at Granite Hills based on voluntary requests for transfer to the new school.
Based on the selection of teaching staff for Granite Hills, we will then identify positions that may be available for transfer at our other school sites. Staff will receive the general request for transfer form when we return after the Winter break and the District will contact interested staff for an interview when a position matching a request form becomes available.
Involuntary transfers will take place at the end of the voluntary process in the event that our staffing ratios do not match the student enrollment needs at each of our school sites.

The RTA and District negotiation teams met on October 29, 2024 and finalized a tentative agreement regarding a $1,000 increase to the district's contribution to health and welfare benefits for an annual contribution of $12,500.
The agreement will be going through the RTA ratification process and then to the Board of Education for final approval. This will likely take place at the December 17, 2024 Board meeting. This timeline will allow the District to make adjustments to employee monthly health and welfare deductions starting with the payroll taking place at the beginning of January. The increased district contribution will be applied equally between the 7 payrolls that take place from January through the end of the school year.
