School Accountability

School Accountability

As a district, we are dedicated to educating the whole child every day. Each school site offers students a variety of programs and services to best meet the needs of the students they serve. Every year, each school site publishes two documents, the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) and the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), to inform the community about the school.

What is a School Accountability Report Card?

The purpose of the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is to provide parents/guardians and the community members with important information about each public school. The SARC provides background information about the school and its students, including:

  • School Enrollment
  • Conditions of Learning
  • Instructional Materials
  • School Facilities
  • Pupil Outcomes
  • Parent/Guardian Engagement
  • School Climate
  • School Safety
  • Class Size
  • Staff Development

What is a School Plan for Student Achievement?

The School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) identifies and addresses the instructional needs of students and specifies how categorical funds will be utilized by the school site to accomplish the goals outlined in the plan. The SPSA for each school includes:

  • Site-specific achievement goals based on a variety of student performance data.
  • Specific strategies to accelerate student learning.
  • Interventions to support student achievement.
  • Professional development for staff.
  • Strategies for parent/guardian communication and engagement.
  • Estimated costs of strategies and resources.
  • Consultation with other site advisory groups.
