Summer Learning Program
Romoland School District offers a summer learning program annually. Our summer learning program is an opportunity for students to continue their learning beyond the school year. This year due to current school closure orders because of COVID-19, summer learning will be offered as a distance learning online program only. There will be NO on-campus check-in days. Enrollment is optional and is open to students in all current grades (2019-20 school year), TK through 7. The RISE program extended school year is available for all students currently in our RISE program per their IEP services.
The summer learning program dates will be June 15 – July 10, 2020 (19 days total, no school on July 3).
- The student work day will be approximately 1-2 hours of daily flexible time to complete online assignments.
- There will be an expectation for the student to do an online check-in with the teacher a minimum of twice per week during teacher office hours offered daily via Google Meet.
- There will be a focus on reading literacy tasks that are fun and engaging. Students in the RISE program extended school year (ESY) will focus on IEP goal engagement.
- Teachers will use District instructional technology tools and curriculum, such as: Google Classroom, Google Meet, iReady, NewsELA, BrainPop, Wonders/StudySync, and Unique (RISE).
