Blended & Personalized Learning

  • The term “blended learning” encompasses a number of pedagogical models and methods. A current, formal definition that many researchers and practitioners agree on is “blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns: At least in part through online learning, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace; at least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home; and the modalities along each student’s learning path within a course or subject are connected to provide an integrated learning experience.”

    Romoland’s work in the blended learning space involves continuous study of the best and most current research-based literature, continuous discussion about our classroom practices, continuous experimentation with an eye to developing best practices, and ultimately, improved personalization, opportunities, and outcomes for our students.
